Faceless people virally spreading around the U.K.

‘It’s the end of the world , as we know it’.. yeah, they are quite scary these people. You’ve probably already heard the rumor about the eerie-looking, faceless people that have been wandering in some of London’s swanky summer events like Elton John’s white tie ball, Wimbledon and Harrod’s summer sale launch hosted by Sex and the City’s, Kim Cattrall.
The point is, these faceless individuals have been causing quite a fuzz. They have been blazing around the Internet and have even ended up in sites such as ufomystic.com and museumofhoaxes.com, both completely irrelevant but clearly depicting the power of VIRAL.
What’s their purpose, you ask? Well, for sure these mysteriously strange guys will hit #1 on the list for this year’s Halloween costume. It’s actually a viral campaign run by Lotus to secretly announce the launch of the Lotus ‘Eagle’ which will be unveiled at the London Motor Show in late July.
And then you wonder, does viral marketing really work? I think this is a great example, plus it’s got everyone in utter suspense, which makes it all the more viral material since people continue to wonder where the ‘aliens’ come from. There’s also a website facelesspeople.com, which is even more intriguing and shows but a countdown to ‘True character will emerge in’.
Also, on Mail Online you have an array of images of the faceless characters and their whereabouts in the city of London.
