YouTube reaches out to political enthusiasts

YouTube just launched a video contest where both Republican and Democrat fanatics can partake to winning participation during their candidate’s campaign trail as well as the national convention to take place either in Denver or Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Its impressive how for quite some time now, YouTube has been immersing itself in the diffusion and advertisement of the whole political entourage. It has embraced the opportunity and served as a platform for expressing people’s opinion on political matters.
On this particular effort, YouTube is requesting users to submit a video displaying their keenness for either party. In the end, only the most creative and inspirational 5 videos will be funneled out of the bunch which will be then voted on by the YouTube Community.
YouTube is running these contest as part of their partnership with the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. As the “Official Search and Online Video Community Provider”, Google and YouTube are contributing to informing communities, citizens, the media and political delegates on everything revolving Convention events and general political information.
Bonding with the users and communities is definitely the best way to go, and Google+YouTube clearly have this under control. Their involvement with the local culture; engaging people to video-sharing and opinion sharing, has definitely been keeping everyone on their toes regarding this year’s political situation.
