Television and online merge: Rumours of TV enhanced with online ads
Posted by Admin @ August 24th, 2007 in Video Advertising
Neuros, a manufacturer of digital media devices, is rumoured (Engadget) to be putting together a set-top box that allows programs to be taken off the Web and shown on a TV. These programs would be triggered by the content the user is watching on the TV.
It is only a rumour, and based on the story of someone interviewed about a possible new product like this, but this type of function would be very useful for marketers and something we certainly expect to be realized in the future. Marketers will soon be able to offer television viewers an advertisement based on the content they are watching.
TV campaigns will be combined with online campaigns. This again demonstrates that offline and online campaigns should be, from now on, always aligned.
