Facebook Developer Garage Milan

Today, the first Facebook Developer Garage took place in Italy, in the city of Milan, which gave the Italian community the opportunity to meet up with developers to share ideas, insights and talk, well…Facebook.
One of the objectives of today’s Developer Garage was to discuss the best techniques for the creation and distribution of new applications, which concluded with an on-site ‘create your own application in 1 hour‘ contest.
A group of developers took part in this contest, including our very own Social Media Strategist, developer on-the-side, Giovanni Lion, who was the proud medalwinner! Congrats Gio!
His application, available in beta-very beta, dubbed Facebook Presents, allows users to organize presents for friends. How does it work? First, you select the B-Day person you wish to send the present to, then select ‘new present’ to share your ideas of a present with your friends including the price of the item.
Your friends will then receive a message, containing the link to Facebook Presents, which will display all the proposals previously submitted by your friends from which you will then be able to choose and join the bandwagon or perhaps, come up with your own idea.
We look forward to seeing more advances in this new Application and of course, we’ll keep you updated when that happens.
