Google Suggest; fast searches, more efficiency

Posted by Manuela Barreto @ August 27th, 2008 in Search Engine Optimization

A new search tool to be launched by Google will be revealed throughout the course of the week. Such undisclosed feature will offer real-time keyword suggestions every time you execute a search query, however, it is still under Google Labs for the final tweaking here and there.

The tool is dubbed, Google Suggest, and will provide users with a selection of optional search guesses that will contribute in speeding up the search process while at the same time making it easier and quicker for the user.

Whether you’re having trouble spelling, remembering or unsure about a certain query, Google Suggest will automatically help out even if you’ve only typed in part of the word. By doing so it will instantly show a drop down box with the various suggestions you can choose from.

My guess is that the vast majority of us is quite familiar with this process since YouTube has had it for some time now, so I have to say it’s a good thing Google is now tagging along with this search modality.

To read more about the pros of Google Suggest, check out the official Google Blog. In the meantime, get ready to try it out.

So next time someone looks up iPhone, they’ll definitely get it right! :-)

I like it!

Soon there will be no need to spell…or even think about what we are searching for.

Hi Peter,
thanks for your comment. It’s quite useful for those who are always on the run too :-)
