Google introduces Image News

Posted by Admin @ July 12th, 2007 in Search Engine Marketing

google_news_images_071107.jpgSince recently, Google is offering an image news service in the US. On its News page, under the tab ‘Image Version’, you can select images from a thumbnail view, and the corresponding news appears in a column on the right. We see it as a sign of the Internet becoming more visual all the time and expect to see video news within very short time.

With regard to marketing, this service will become more valuable when it is available in video format. With YouTube video ads popping up all the time, an ad-funded free news video service is not far away. Within a few years televised news will have blended into this service and we pick the news we want to see from a list, without being forced to look at news that is uninteresting for us.
