Google expanding Map function: New York subway mapped and marketed

Posted by Admin @ August 29th, 2007 in Search Engine Marketing

google_subway_map_082807.jpgGoogle is taking on the challenge of making an interactive map of the New York City metro map. It will include route planners, time tables, and 77 thinks that after a while it will also support plenty of advertising.

Bloomberg was the first to cover this story and reports that the New York MTA and New Jersey Transit have a combined user number of over 9 million daily. Only a small part of these people will consult an online map, but for companies that cater to a specific small area and target tourists (think mostly foods and drinks) this can be a very valuable way of advertising.
