Adsense for Games; target your audience through their favorite web game

Google just wants to have fun…despite the economic downturn.
The beta version of Adsense for Games is now available for the integration of video ads into online social games. The opportunities of reaching more customers and placing relevant ads to reach the right audiences are expanding to this new medium.
The truth is, web-based games have increased popularity and statistics today reveal that over 25% of the entire population of internet users play online games, meaning over 200 million people.
With this great initiative advertisers can now aim for more revenue by displaying image ads, display ads or text ads on the different frames within the games, whether its in between levels, before starting the game, towards the end of it or perhaps at ‘Game Over’.
The number of online gamers is estimated to grow at a 17% rate per year, which makes this new technology of advertising through games a major monetizing strategy for advertisers.
Going back to yesterday’s article, this is another great example of how brands can use Google Adsense for Games in anticipation, during and after a massive sporting event (could be anything really) to place text/video/image ads on sports related web games and target a relevant audience and demographic.
Watch the video below for a better idea of how this new method of ad placement works and which games form part of the Google network:
