Video game advertising about to grow, fast

Video game advertising is predicted to become one of the fastest growing advertising methods over the next five years, Park Associates have calculated from a recent research among key players in the gaming industry. Forms of possible marketing linked with video games include ‘in-game advertising (dynamic and static), display, advergames, game tournament, and virtual worlds.’

77 reported before that gamers seem willing to allow advertising in video games when it keeps prices down or when it means increased service, like better support. It seems gamers will be in for a treat, as especially in-game advertising is about to increase.

eMarketer’s own predictions (April 2007) are more conservative, but show big growth over the next five years nonetheless:
