Microsoft moving into video game advertising

Microsoft, too, has moved into video game advertising. The move follows reports that show video game advertising will explode over the next five years. A tiny market now, video game advertising will grow to almost $1 billion in investments in 2011.
According to Search Engine Land, Microsoft signed a deal with EA game publishers. Microsoft is mostly happy with making the deal for the whole range of games. In our eyes, this is definitely an added value as brands can make cross-game deals for advertising with one company and can easily make complete campaigns across several video games. EA is in Europe mostly known for its sports games, in our view excellent platforms for advertisements as people are already used to see marketing around sports arenas.
