In accordance with Steve Smith at MobileInsider, we feel that simple applications are the future for mobile advertising. Small screens are made for small features. Crush or flush gives the user not too many options (two) and this makes it easy to use on the road, or when waiting for the bus. Advertising and mobile brand sites can probably be built on the same principle: the simpler, the better.
American mobile dating site Crush or Flush has experienced explosive growth recently: MediaPost reports that the site accumulated 100,000 members in its first three months and by now is trying to hook up over 150,000 men and women. The dating system is built on very simple parameters: Every member gets to upload a photo and attach a maximum of eight tags to it. Anyone browsing the database can ‘Flush’ (ignore) the potential date or ‘Crush’ them. Only mutual crushes are put in contact with each other.
