Short Superman series created solely for Mobile Video

Warner Brothers created a six-episode series of short videos for mobile devices only, reports The New York
Times: “We were never able to do that in the show,” Lisa Gregorian, the executive vice president of worldwide television marketing for Warner Brothers Television Group, said of the “Smallville Legends” mobile series.
Apparently, publishers are finding the mobile Internet useful for projects they would not have started on other media. The article further states that advertisers remain reluctant to sponsor such projects. Brands seem to be not sure on how to use short mobile video series to target potential customers.
Targeting customers has never been such a big issue with traditional television advertising but now there are alternatives such as search engine marketing. It might be said there are two groups: on one side the conservatives that stick with traditional TV advertising for now, and on the other side the early adopters that see more value in targeted marketing. Mobile video needs to find a way to bridge the gap by targeting the mobile videos better and making a better connection between content and advertised products.
