Mobile video advertisement firms taking shape

Mobile video marketing companies have recently been declaring what type of advertisements they will produce. Today, Clickz reported that
Transpera will add a short video advertisement to videos that users can send to their mobile phones. The users will be able to find these videos online, but will then be prompted to download an application to their mobile phones that can browse and download other videos.
Clickz reported earlier that ZooVision is offering a similar service, where AdMob is trying to reach its audience with mobile banner ads that lead to a mobile video.
We conclude that mobile video marketing is taking off, but advertisers and companies are still looking for the right format. Intuitively we would say that banner ads are less intrusive than pre-roll ads, marketing is in a more advanced state than it used to be and users are, by now, willing to
watch advertisements in order to receive free content. What is more, they are getting used to it quickly. Where online video was a magic medium that offered free content, no strings attached, mobile video might very well adopt the television model as the providers of the free content will want to monetize their popularity.
On a related note, some American companies have started using mobile coupons as an advertisement vehicle. Companies such as CellFire (
how it works) send messages to registered users that can use these messages as a discount coupon in physical stores. If they prove to be able to target their customers (geographically) well, we see this as a possibly very valuable marketing method, due to the ease of use and the value it offers for the customers.
