The growing popularity of mobile advertising is demonstrated by Coca Cola signing AdMob to run a mobile advertsing campaign. The campaign is partly viral – typical for mobile advertising campaigns – as viewers can send the video ads to their friends through MMS. The viral aspect of mobile advertising will probably be a crucial factor in its success, and we feel advertisers can really make an impact when they convince people to share a message with their friends over the mobile network.
AdMob recently created a combined mobile and viral campaign for Coca Cola, and the results made Coca Cola ‘extremely happy,’ reported AdMobiNetwork. The international videos – no language was used – were being downloaded on mobile phones in 160 countries at the same time from Coca Cola’s mobile site. The mobile site could be reached through mobile banners. See below for snapshots of the banner ad, mobile site (taken from AdMobiNetwork) and an example of one of the videos on YouTube.
